How do you install a toilet?
If you want to know how to install a toilet, keep in mind that, although it may seem like an overwhelming task, it is actually very simple : You don't need too much material and in about two hours you can put it in place and get it ready for use.
We recommend drawing with a pencil or chalk where you will place it, so that you do not damage the tiles. To provide better adhesion, remove the top layer of the tiles with a diamond disc to create a rough surface.
We show you step by step how to install a toilet with its tank or cistern simply and quickly:
1 Necessary tools
To start with the reform, you only need three very simple tools:
Electric drill.
Widia drill bit for concrete with a diameter of 8 mm.
Gun that applies silicone.
2 Materials to use
It is necessary that you also have the following materials:
Toilet.
Hose.
Deposit the Cistern.
Chemical plug.
Drain piece.
Silicone.
3 Installation of the toilet tank
To install the mechanism inside the cistern or toilet tank , place the water loading pump inside the tank, with its sealing gasket and fix it with the plastic nut.
Secure the discharge pump with the cap , making sure that the seals are in optimal condition to avoid water leaks.
Place the tank in its respective place, then tighten each fixing nut well without going too far to avoid over-threading.
Install the water supply line . Adapt it without rippling the line because it can obstruct the flow of water or, worse, break.
4 Initial adjustment needed for the toilet
Make sure the new toilet fits the space perfectly. To do this you will have to measure from the wall behind the toilet to the center of one of the adjustment bolts. Then measure from the center of the mounting holes to the back of the new toilet mount. Compare measurements to fit perfectly.
5 Drill the holes and insert the screws
Time to drill the holes to fix the toilet. Drill first without a hammer so that the bit does not slip and then actuate the percussion and accelerate the speed of the same.
Apply chemical plugs to these holes and insert the fixing screws. Wait for it to dry.
Meanwhile, take advantage of placing a plastic elbow at the outlet of the drain pipes, screwing it tightly.
6 Apply universal silicone
Apply the silicone on the base of the toilet , place it in its correct position, which matches the screws on the floor and the side holes. With a level check that it is exactly in its horizontal position.
So that this adhesive does not protrude beyond the contour, apply a thick layer of silicone 3 mm from the initially drawn contour .
7 Join the toilet to the tank
To join toilet and tank, fit the gasket of the tank to the toilet . Then, fixing it with two screws, it adjusts the tank in its position. Then place the flexible hose that is used for the water intake, tightening it with a fixed or adjustable wrench.
8 Place the tank cap
Now that the tank is in its correct position, you can cover it, fixing the buttons with a screwdriver.
9 Place the toilet seat
It only remains for us to place the toilet seat. To do this, insert the seat bolts into the holes in the toilet and then attach the nuts.
You may need to make minor adjustments to the unloading gear or mechanism . To check this, flush the toilet and see if the water falls and stops running correctly when the tank empties.
